What Do We Believe?
We believe the Bible is God's Word and we look to it alone for doctrine.
We believe that everyone has broken God's laws and deserves eternal punishment. But because God loves us, God Himself became flesh and paid our debt for us. Even though we didn't deserve His mercy, He accepted our punishment. If we turn from our sins and put our faith in Him, He will forgive us and change us into new men and women
We practice believer's baptism, which symbolizes our death to sin and resurrection with Christ.
We also celebrate the Lord's Supper (communion) monthly. All Christians are welcome to participate.
We believe that Christ has called all Christians to spread the good news of Jesus at home, work, school, and to the ends of the earth.

Burton Baptist Church is a local congregation in Grand Rapids, Michigan. We are a member of the West Area Baptist Churches of Michigan, The American Baptist Churches of Michigan, and the American Baptist Churches, U.S.A.
American Baptists are a denomination of more than 1.5 million members in 5,700 local congregations in the USA and Puerto Rico. Though part of a denomination, each church stands individually. No pastor or denominational leader has a right to speak for us on matters of faith and practice.
